paperback pages [precious] - original poem

paperback pages [precious]

pages are precious
and so is the settled
inlaid ink
when the pulp
contains ancient truths
inscriptions scribed
by trembling hands
of terrorized children
taken victim
by history's drafts
so brutal
and forceful
bringing their petals
to new flowers
drawn
on precious
little
paperback
pages

untitled #13 - original poem

untitled #13

looking backward
from the outside in
fields of coriander
stand between us

rows of green beans
and stalks of corn
patterning
the passing pictures

moving past
the window seat viewfinder
whipping past
your breezy hair
flapping in the aerodyne

hand-painted yellow
Lego building blocks
divide us
from incoming
snake oil tanker trucks

but the dried squares
are never enough
to keep us safe
and prevent us
from fixating backwards

miles are to be harvested
long before moonshine
now hanging on stakes to dry
before the crimson sunrise
in the West Virginian
za za clouds

falling from the sky
in plain view

Arthur C. Clarke Covers #1

Another fellow scientist-turned-author...Arthur C. Clarke.  While I do own many of his titles and covers (there are a multitude), I have not really dived into most of his works.  Let me know if you have an opinion of which titles or series I should start with.  Cheers!

harmonium of chaos - original poem

harmonium of chaos

harmonious
with the torn tissue
and fallen
purple petals
minty green leaves
gone stale
brown and crispy
in the flares
of the open carried sun
wholly and lawfully
toying
with the contrast knob
on the orderly
professional panel
producing scores
of celestial beats
titrated in
accordingly
and carefully slow
to find the key
isoelectric pocket
where all ions are used
kept raw
and dynamic
harbored in
a harmonium
of chaos

spite writes - original poem

spite writes

spite writes
for the harbored anger
the demonic spites
with bloodthirst
to feverishly write

and warn the world
of their anguish
held too tight
sewn on too tautly
to their armored vests
in bad attitude spikes
and fabricated capes

protecting them
from the shame
of those around them
the shame of those who walk
with their head
dropping at their feet

walking a straight line
towards a destitute
and grimy bug infested
down bad bum ass life
under a decrepit shed
or a bridge in Hamilton

fuck those demon sprites
who write with such spite
and hobo spit
floating on whisky tears
dried on the Cleveland sidewalk

let's smash the dinner table
and break some ceramic plates
with your new fashion icon
swiss army boots

your identity is tied
to a faceless demon
lacking fame
or guts or glory
only shitty millennium loops
of trauma pain and fear

I've long since started
into their blurry eyes
fuck that... I'm out

fornicating Floridians - original poem

fornicating Floridians

fornicating Floridians
with wildwood eyes
glinting transiently
behind the cat tails
and overgrown lawns
feel free Floridians
to hide behind
your citrus barricades
and wooden gateways
retire tirelessly
on the big toe of America
sinking into
the Atlantic swells
salinating your delusions
of hierarchy
and the transfer
of formidable knowledge
