LibraryThing Update

I love using LibraryThing.com in order to catalog my book collection.  Are you privvy?

I have been collecting paperback books on/off since I was a child.  For me - it all started when I completed the full collection of original Goosebumps paperbacks as a kid (would get them at Discount Drug Mart every week when shopping with my mom).  Shortly after reading those, I started to collect some other series like the original Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew, Animorphs, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, and etc. I would love to grab these titles for cheap from Half Price Books.  I guess not much has changed, ha.

However when I was a kid, my collection was very.....dynamic let's just say.  Between all the moves I did between parents houses in middle/high school and college dorms/apartments, my collection got less and less over the years. I did bring a pretty decent collection of books with me (around 400-500) when I moved to Canada for graduate school, but same thing happened - I moved 4 times in 5 years and lost track of things.  So towards the end of my time there and right before moving back to the US - I got rid of my entire book collection except for some rare zines/occult/philosophy books I held on to.  I donated the entire collection mostly to my buddy Geoff who gave me a book himself at a time when I needed it most, so this was my repayment.

Since I moved back to the US in 2020, I have been huge into collecting again.  There are so many amazing used bookstores and sales going on around Ohio every weekend, so I have been keeping busy.  I've also been quite lucky finding great lots online as well. My goal for 2022 was to get my book collection to around 2000 titles and I am currently at 1841!  However, I still have some boxes here in my apartment that are not being counted so I may already be there, we will see!

Here's a snapshot of the types of stuff I have in my collection.  I will post some more pictures of covers on here later as well as sneak peaks into my storage unit where I keep all of these titles safe and sound.
