untitled #13
looking backward
from the outside in
fields of coriander
stand between us
rows of green beans
and stalks of corn
patterning
the passing pictures
moving past
the window seat viewfinder
whipping past
your breezy hair
flapping in the aerodyne
hand-painted yellow
Lego building blocks
divide us
from incoming
snake oil tanker trucks
but the dried squares
are never enough
to keep us safe
and prevent us
from fixating backwards
miles are to be harvested
long before moonshine
now hanging on stakes to dry
before the crimson sunrise
in the West Virginian
za za clouds
falling from the sky
in plain view
