Moleskine Series (3)

I wrote a series of poems between 2018 and 2020 focusing mostly on mental health management.  Most of these poems read as very honest/personal diary entries.  Thus, I entitled the series as the "Moleskine Series" since I actively use Moleskine books as my diary.  I tried to keep the formatting and covers quite basic with these pieces to reflect the macabre/personal theme of each.

The style and message of these pieces are very different than the "Bio-Organic Surrealism"-based poems I have been reading to recently.  Most poems reflect a traumatizing moment, feeling, memory, or realization that occurred in my life. Each book contains 33 original poems and is around 60 pages.

P.S.  Kindle ($3) and paperback versions ($6) are available for each.

Check out the link to the entire series here:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08VJJ6T16?searchxofy=true&binding=kindle_edition&ref_=dbs_s_aps_series_rwt_tkin&qid=1653667873&sr=8-1

Poul Anderson Covers #1

Another of my SF favourites who has some amazing cover art:  Poul Anderson

Let's take a look at 9 notable covers here and appreciate the art.  I will do another post with some variants and alternative titles.  For the novels listed here, there are 3-5 cover variants that all rule.

paperback pages - original poem

paperback pages [precious]

pages are precious
and so is the settled
inlaid ink
when the pulp
contains ancient truths
inscriptions scribed
by trembling hands
of terrorized children
taken victim
by history's drafts
so brutal
and forceful
bringing their petals
to new flowers
drawn
on precious
little
paperback
pages

yellow oxygen tube - original poem

yellow oxygen tube

I hope you never
have to seriously use
the dangling yellow
oxygen tube
hidden in the compartment
above your head
the other's immune systems
are too weak and loose
even under constant life support
let's face it kid
we are the last wanderers
on these solar balls
of ancient gas and dirt
left to fend
for only ourselves
God willing brother

ursa major - original poem

ursa major

Where is
ursa major tonight?
It must come full circle

my god look -

it will be in the same spot
as mother moon
at midnight's high noon
let's leave the observatory

immediately I might add

we have Kenobe jars
of biohazardous evidence

they know we're here

let's go

LibraryThing Update

I love using LibraryThing.com in order to catalog my book collection.  Are you privvy?

I have been collecting paperback books on/off since I was a child.  For me - it all started when I completed the full collection of original Goosebumps paperbacks as a kid (would get them at Discount Drug Mart every week when shopping with my mom).  Shortly after reading those, I started to collect some other series like the original Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew, Animorphs, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, and etc. I would love to grab these titles for cheap from Half Price Books.  I guess not much has changed, ha.

However when I was a kid, my collection was very.....dynamic let's just say.  Between all the moves I did between parents houses in middle/high school and college dorms/apartments, my collection got less and less over the years. I did bring a pretty decent collection of books with me (around 400-500) when I moved to Canada for graduate school, but same thing happened - I moved 4 times in 5 years and lost track of things.  So towards the end of my time there and right before moving back to the US - I got rid of my entire book collection except for some rare zines/occult/philosophy books I held on to.  I donated the entire collection mostly to my buddy Geoff who gave me a book himself at a time when I needed it most, so this was my repayment.

Since I moved back to the US in 2020, I have been huge into collecting again.  There are so many amazing used bookstores and sales going on around Ohio every weekend, so I have been keeping busy.  I've also been quite lucky finding great lots online as well. My goal for 2022 was to get my book collection to around 2000 titles and I am currently at 1841!  However, I still have some boxes here in my apartment that are not being counted so I may already be there, we will see!

Here's a snapshot of the types of stuff I have in my collection.  I will post some more pictures of covers on here later as well as sneak peaks into my storage unit where I keep all of these titles safe and sound.
