mutations [genetic mastery] - original poem

mutations [genetic mastery]

why not take a drive with me
stop by my house
see my basement DIY laboratory
no worries, the city heath officials wrote it off

I have something to show you
it might tickle the fringes
of your astute creative fantasies
and soothe your deoxygenated cells

we'll start by perusing
my amino acid modification lab
and my species collection on the wall
a database of failed experiments
and cryovials of those that withstood our tests

pick a mutation of interest
and we'll go from there
we have several bright field scopes
and colorimetric assays available

any chemical to fit your needs
just tell me what she looks like
tell me what mutations sound grand
I'll run a genetic algorithm through my software

we'll see if there's any compatibility
and in only one day
we can take care of any genetic deformities
personality oddities
and behavioral abnormalities
you might want gone

we just have to make sure
the subject stays under physiological conditions
and that the liquid anesthesia will take
if so we have dour hours to augment at will
we can craft a scientific love story

so sweet and daring
we will leave our peers crying
and jealous
over our suave
predatory nature
within the domain
of genetic mastery

my bones hurt - original poem

 my bones hurt

my bones hurt
from the gravimetric bend
of army men doing jumping jacks
preparing for wars
with existential feelings
of unknown futures
unseen dangers
and hidden treasures
looming on a spinning wheel
spun by the seamstress of chaos
the switcher of entropy
and the carrier of ancient ailments
and spoiled ointments
that can glue
our bodies back up after incision
or keep the pages near the spine
and mend the viral memories
bursting like fireworks
in your yellow cat-like eyes
glowing their ashes
flickering their Merlin flames
and biotically cycling back
to something scary and new
but something never done before
a war waged with different troops
different magnitudes of machinery
and patterns on the soles of their
grimy combat boots
making all my bones hurt

Heinlein the cat and Foster the dog - original poem

Heinlein the Cat and Foster the Dog

cross your paws
and lay by my feet
in neatly darned wool socks
they will keep you warm

conduction in your mangcoon coat
and tender feline cage
rustling on wooden floors
whispering secrets to the rats
living in the crevices
behind my bedroom door

Heinlein dear -
my furry little gumdrop
in a wolf's costume
leaving me kisses
before my morning commute

cuddle up with Foster when I am gone
your golden swirly friend
with a head in distant places
and long red drippy nose
dropping slobbery bits of saliva

we're all the warriors
we need to fill our clan
and set forth to Magellan clouds
on our cosmic 10 speed bike
powered by a generator
on mental creativity

come on Foster
let's go Heinlein
you guys get the seat in the back
holler if you need anything

total genetics - original poem

 total genetics

imagine a new species
capable of sustaining
characteristics
of both plants and animals

c'mon
use your imagination
plants able to move
walk on more than all fours
like their quadruped predators

animals able to harness
the rays of the sun directly
no filtration or lotion need
to photosynthesize our grocery orders
a world without hunger

standing like bare white walls
at a modern art exhibit
tapped with true tranquility
a peace offering from the stars

a moment to catch our breaths
from the time patrolman trainer
for us humans
to finally get our acts straight

achieve our highest potential
grow outwardly into our evolving bodies
to be our highest potential forms

but outwardly
we might have to accept branches
in place of our forearms
curling tendrils instead of posable thumbs

but life is but one big biological stew
swimming in a public pool of brine
being studied under a lens
fixed somewhere unclear

so why not dare
to mutate our physical forms
and edit our bony bodies
test the possibilities

our genomes are already mutated
and nucleotides don't wait
or take orders from any gods
landlords
parents
or managers
in a world with only peace

dead centered [winchester] - original poem

dead centered [winchester]

dodging little
beady Bucky balls
of molten steel
enchanted with curses to kill
oh Sarah
oh Sarah
your Winchester shotguns
have tempted man's will
and plagued him
with familiar congruences
and temptations of evil

your padded segregated halls
house the souls of the dead
tormented in servitude
blinded by fluorescent lights
flickering on white sheets
oh Sarah
oh Sarah
your intentions of repeating arms
have left hearts bloodless
without a synchronous beat
soul lacking a willing hand
or a guiding thumb
for proper palpitations

yet there you sit
with your fiends foes and kin
at the cluttered séance table
right at midnight
but right at two
the spells with call to you
near a drop of doom
and a secret passageway
latched, sealed shut
with no way back home

your little shotguns
have tempted men
with the urge to kill
yet only crying alone
behind locked doors
and portals closed
with brimstone and hexes
grinning silently
in self dense
dead centered
in the middle
of the fluorescent
organed target

wraith - original poem

 wraith

besieged by the curse
of her bloody face
a dusty wraith
with a grimacing face
waltzing and pirouetting
atop oaken cabinetry

hidden from the sheen
of the 7 pronged candelabra
bouncing in dismal wavers
with a single hand attached
adjacent to the pulley system

her shadow is longing
restlessly pacing
in the absence of a caretaker
or a wandering spirit
with enough free time
to take care
of her awful situation

stuck in the millennium loop
somewhere out of phase
between here
and some other hidden place

so her shadow will keep bobbing
peeking out of doorways
and moseying along the floorboards
until we finally open the door
and she follows our beacon
of guiding white light

But I repeat -
she cannot follow us home
we will allow no energy attachments

this dusty wraith
stuck in an abandoned
decrepit foundational cage
a glitch of time and space
where trauma nuggets
are too beautiful to dust off

no more heart
to nibble on and eat
so she will waste away
into the voids and shadows
permeating in the corners
of the dark castle rooms
