besieged by the curse
of her bloody face
a dusty wraith
with a grimacing face
waltzing and pirouetting
atop oaken cabinetry
hidden from the sheen
of the 7 pronged candelabra
bouncing in dismal wavers
with a single hand attached
adjacent to the pulley system
her shadow is longing
restlessly pacing
in the absence of a caretaker
or a wandering spirit
with enough free time
to take care
of her awful situation
stuck in the millennium loop
somewhere out of phase
between here
and some other hidden place
so her shadow will keep bobbing
peeking out of doorways
and moseying along the floorboards
until we finally open the door
and she follows our beacon
of guiding white light
But I repeat -
she cannot follow us home
we will allow no energy attachments
this dusty wraith
stuck in an abandoned
decrepit foundational cage
a glitch of time and space
where trauma nuggets
are too beautiful to dust off
no more heart
to nibble on and eat
so she will waste away
into the voids and shadows
permeating in the corners
of the dark castle rooms
