magnetocyte - original poem

magnetocyte

inject me
with your magnetocytes

with the power
to remodel
the red and white corpuscles
floating in my blood
erythrocytes and leukocytes

I'm only a violent felon
wandering on steel bars
waiting around to die
I'm willing to contribute
to your esoteric research
doctor

i know you're still
adjusting the dose response
I don't mind
give me the middle dose
I'll try to metabolize it all

I'm sure you're assistant
will leave an accurate report
of my recovery
justified state death
on your desk
first thing
Monday morning

Ruby Jean Jensen Covers #1

Ruby Jean Jensen is quite well known for her Zebra horror paperback covers.  To be honest, most of the covers are a lot cooler than the grit of her stories/writings, but it is still always a good read.

I currently have 2 of these titles but hope to get more, they are just quite hard to come by unless you want to pay eBay's gouged prices by amateur pickers that don't actually care about literature.

enigmatic effigy - original poem

enigmatic effigy

he forms his crumpled fingers
into a century old frigid suplex
a nearly five pointed star
an enigmatic effigy
capable of sucking
the magnetic pull
from symmetrical circles of dust
skirted around the monument base
and push it outward
into sinusoidal waves
forming creaks and knocks
in the night time
century-old cemetery

snowglobe - original poem

snowglobe

when trauma hits
like heavy snowfall
the snow globe
gets shaken up a bit

unclear of up from down
the glue really does its job
keeping the plastic in one place
but everything is different

the thick plastic flakes
engineered by some other person
put in their daily hours at a factory
let the plastic clumps settle

the synthetic polymerized bloats
for they carry the thoughts
still unsettled
not glued to the frame

the shavings left over
from some other process
let the process die
to make room for another

let the plastic gumdrops
settle back onto the floor
and place the globe in a spot
that will be stationary for long

only shaken by children
at Christmas time
or when guests are over
and curious

but then it will be discernable
which way is up
which way is down
which plastic has glue
which is manmade
and not of you

that you just have to let settle
because dust always falls
circles ways rotate and tilt
and the suns rays of wisdom
will always come back
after their vacation is over

let the snowglobe sit
as stationary as possible
for as long as you are comfortable
you're in charge of who shakes it

R. Karl Largent Covers #1

While R. Karl Largent might not have a plethora of horror paperbacks associated with his name, the ones he has written are of high quality.  To this day, the cover art for The Lake if still one of my favorites.
