frustrated mineralogist - original poem

frustrated mineralogist

I ponder
if your prized chunk
of porphyry 
housed in a glass jar
on your office desk
would have sufficient weight
to bash your skull in

leaving purple 
crystals of feldspar
canoeing like rafts
down the pooling trail
of your sludgy glazed 
caramel apple blood

Eh...
the janitor's on vacation
I'd hate to have to clean
another sp-

I blindly blurt
