paleobotanist - original poem

paleobotanist

the paleobotanist
will be sure to find a cure

"the only one left
in this hyper-sphere
of the soiled universe"

remarks the weary cyclops

the final key
to advanced
xeno-morphogenesis
must be hidden
avoiding hydrolysis

beneath the moldy
green carpeted layers
of Saturn's
reproducing flower ports

dangling and drooping

off its unreal rings

midnight moon - original poem

 midnight moon

you did me dirty
midnight moon
but I offer no resentful
or vengeful notes of anger
for your fangs to latch onto

the hand-drawn black box
on the backside of my neck
blocks the only biological gateway
between my own armor
and the glowingness of you

thick black ink
serving as rubber cement
securing the dusty old gate
finally in its resting place
so I will not resort to violence
or misdirected hatred

for only our midnight moon
is left to shimmer
in the fields of our clouds
above where the other brethren
were all cast out of Heaven

leaving only their ugly
dusty vibrant entrails
squirming in the sky
still observable
on our modern telescope
as periscopic mystic codes

Bookman - original poem by Sasha Logan

Bookman

A wealthy man shows intellect,
from pondering his manuscripts.
He’s never been on ship nor train,
to see the world, he’s too afraid.

For now he cowers inside his room,
content to watch the flowers bloom.
Roses and wildflowers from his window,

same books and view from his youth.

C.J. Cherryth Covers #1

Taking a look at some of the amazing cover art found on the sci-fi and fantasy novels written by the prolific writer C.J. Cherryth.  I still have to dive into this author's work and I think I will start with the Cyteen series since I have all three in the series unless anyone has any better suggestions.

diurnal resonance - original poem

 diurnal resonance

all longing for
the diurnal beats
wandering in resonance
with our major vital organs
to command the inner chi
and dematerialize any being
as all cellular bodies
resonate at certain frequencies
and move the vibrations
of quartz crystal microbalances
at different rates
in unique logarithmic shapes
swaying in the aether
like a wooden swinging horse
gelled within the folds
of adjacent
temporarily overlapping
time loops
features from distinct
carnival rides
and historical timelines
strangely enmeshed
only for a few
brief moments
- - -
unwind

canvassed mind - original poem

 canvassed mind

the bronzed pages
thumb-creased covers
implore me
to discover your characters
visit your foreign lands

spawned from the kink
in evolutionary metamorphosis
towards a sense of higher purpose
rather than one
of proprietary survival

let me visualize the world
that shook your soul
and rotated your wrists
with enough torque
to write such emotive work

my eyes are numb
in the simplicity of your similes
by your stylized rhymes
and immaculate pacing
over the once barren fields

now splayed with latexed colors
far from their initial titanium whites
that sheeted existence blandly
your texts have begun to paint
my blank canvassed mind
