Anderson's city [cellular hell] - original poem

Anderson's city [cellular hell]

Anderson taught me
that a city is an organism
living and breathing
with many intricate
tiny moving parts
all relative to one another
as a child builds
with plastic building blocks
before upgrading to cement

We've bio-engineered our homes
stacking organelles
and living rooms
atop one another
like high-rises
connected through
invisible elevators
and neuronal roads

And don't forget
all the cellular materials
in need of public transportation
endo and exo-
-cytosed every hour
bustling and shuffling
through the cellular
city centre

and all the lovely children
childish ribosomes
going to school
in a single file line
waiting for biological sloppiness
to be translated
on rough reticular sheets

but at recess
we get to go over to the smooth side
and enjoy the tunneled slides
on the floating jungle gym
only getting marks like A, P, or E
depending on their school district
and the salary of mom and dad
their highest earned degree

cycling until eventually transposed
becoming a teenager
a oligopeptide in growing pains
comfortable growing
more and more each year
with adding on extra chains
trove of debts
colleagues and responsibilities
the pains of adulting
contorting and conforming

until finally someone
deems us as a revered
and productive
member of cellular society
as we are translated by mRNA
and deceived by government spies
into finally breaking
our tertiary structures
for a more advanced style of living
amongst the quaternary
of macromolecular gods

its not nearly as bad as they say
each can choose
a separate profession
some elect to work in post office
making Golgi bodies proud

or maybe you study real hard
land a job at the power plant
and mitochondrially power
this developing cellular body
but I heard in passing
that the top-secret documents
are still locked in obtuse envelopes
in a room with several safety-locks
at the core of the plant
may you do your bidding
to finally get inside
the nuclear pore chair

others devote their lives
to their cellular duties
nursing and cleaning
housing and caring
for little baby ribosomes
still not educated enough
for the stars of respiration

yet we can only hear
their whiny echoes
through cytoskeletal phone lines and beams
wirelessly sending and receiving
electro-potentials of everything
but flicker from your nuclear den
lets me know my messages are received
keep them with you
forever and always
through cellular hell and back again

red-winged black bird - original poem

red-winged black bird

the red winged black bird
means its heart
or the color of grounding
is silent on its sleeve

always perched on branches
staring into the pit of my soul
giving me subtle reminders
of the need to calm down

and the irony
of a poet
doing cardiovascular engineering
gene edited research for a living

the band of colour around your arm
like an ss soldier
as your wings flutter aimlessly
in soiled air gusts

it's sweet soft voice
becomes agitated and pitched
i know you
and thank you for following me
across the entire red line

the second i pick my head up
from the downward stare
of my phone screen keyboard
you move out of sight

but i still hear your sweet melodies
from the opposite side of the tracks
only to reemerge on the same branch
to supervise and confirm
that i made my connecting bus

cheers buddy
ill keep cat treats in my bag
from now on
promise, it's in my diary

Chron's - original poem

chron's

bless me
with a shortwave
indigo light form
waterfalling
over my guts
intestines
all intertwined
billowed and puffy
pulsing
in painful
wavelike
syncopations
ballooning
in Iretan smelling
atmospheric
clouds of gas
beads of sweat
dribbling
down my neck
scatological
avalanches
ceramic monsoons
with each
painful
life depleting
push
I purge
the after-meals
of yesterday
the parts of earth
I stuffed inside
and got scared
wanting to run out
evading all the platforms
and organic moving parts
getting out swiftly
violently
amateurishly
in the nightmare hours
under hot shower
steams

layers - original poem

layers

all the different layers of earth
tortilla nacho white
jaundiced yellow citrine
fuzzy cat pink
paired with baby blue
surrounded by besieged khaki
under a molten
mocha brown cinnamon
sugar coated crust

ill lick each layer
as each one
of my personality's
masks unrfurl
falling hard
and hardening on the floor
garbage picked
by the lower middle class
trash picking king
and collected
in his basement hole
constantly
resurfacing
every couple of months
or years
or so
