moonbow - original poem

moonbow

breaking schisms
unravelling sigmoids
the fearful
the loathsome
the isolated schizoid

he offers to not take any sides
rather burn it all down
into heaps of cosmic waste
and film it with his outdated handycam
all from the sidelines

being sure to not interfere
simply catch the vibe
and ride in the wavepool
of it's silent reaction

and then fly off
into the crimson sky
using flacon eyes
to scour for another anomaly
to capture innocence
then rinse repeatedly

trailing the howls
heard in the corridor
of decaying urban sheets
following the odor of death
through dilapidated
gallivant library halls

always seeking the beginning
of humanity's deep dark plunge
into the briny ocean
of Satan himself
where the water's tonicity
is so high
your body only
floats involuntarily

and the salt vapors
seep into your eyes
divesting you
of the green-fed sunshine
of your bloody martyr
and uninvited saviour
the one who died for your sins
and puked all over the walls

after handing you a load
as big as a double-stack
all for you to pull
and bear the forthcoming
of a creative isolation
and introspective existence found alone

pushing the freight train of emptiness
along the steel tracks of death
following the shine endlessly
towards the kingdoms of light
barricaded and bordered
by the prevalent color elected into office
by the silent majority's voting habits

away from all the schisms
the arbitrary golden rules
and endless regulations
where the birds fly freely
without the burden of feathered wings

caring not of any drones
only fascinated with the mountains
and electric eel moonscapes
above the shrubby hillsides
akin to abandoned bones

covered in thick
grey molasses so sweet
its content exercises every limb
and he may attempt to wade through
and find any resemblance
of beams of color and white

like the crimson crystals
suspended in the ambient air
the jewels in the sky
that you aimed to grasp
to leave the dark
and disillusioning landscape
away from the pits of evil
and the darkness of pure night

bloom - original poem

bloom

our defensive knights
guardians of goblins
and nightmarish giants
they know not
of human desires
and habitually-eased truths
or deceptive mantras told
to internally shake the jitters

they simply fashion their swords
under the imminent threat of evil
and the immensity
of danger's unholy bite
yet their armored plates
know not
of the personal battles
of their allies and kin alike

we cannot ponder the mistakes
of our eulogized soldiers
who were slashed down
by other territorial men
who were scared but still scary
and willing to protect
the maggot-filled coffins
of the heroes from their steed
and the tactile defenders
of their century-old homes

but we must forget not
that all chain mail
eventually loses a link
but like the sweet soft spot
in a newborn baby's skull
knowledge and love
paired with unconditional care
can desalinate any pond
can clear any code blue spills

we can make plants sprout anew
from their hibernating bodies
stuck in their roots
the woody hallways of fame
nutrients and fallen heroes
who know not
of human desires
only the concept of re-birth

interconnectedness
the aspiration
of starting anew
with deeply deposited
hydrophobic residues
the Earth decided to leave us with
to learn something from
and to finally bloom

test subject - original poem

test subject

dried herbs
rotten crops
decaying corpses
jaws dropped

creaking window
open door
hellfire flames
beneath the basement
cellar door

brew the ashes
in toxic lethal gas
in ionic liquids
atop crystallizing glass

when it hardens
by the morningtime
it must taste nice
a frontal surge
of isolated orchid dew

but his body was prepped
now dropping invisibly
through the floor
melting and wiggling
past the solid floorboards

wallowing and aching
cowering in pain
your experiment's past its endpoint
suffering now
only for your fame

a silver bullet
dipped in Vicodin
and sulfuric acid
it's all that we can offer
it must do the job

aim for it's third eye
destroy the pineal gland
if your hit's successful
you should see a mist
of finely particled purple goo

that's how we know
that you've hit your target
and removed us from danger
from the psychopathic

ataraxia - original poem

 ataraxia

show me first-handedly
that hopes of ataraxia
are not a mere myth

not a green ancient dragon
locked behind bars and beams
sleeping on heaps of gold
rubies, gems, and rarities

for all the worries, doubts,
and shameful resentments
get stuck in the pits
of the metal barred beams

trapped at the gumline
dripping fungal blood
on his stained teeth
a physical reminder
of the flaneur's existence

the speed of hope
running track and field
and the myth of ataraxia
protecting the gems
of human philosophy
under his inflamed breath
and dense dreaming head

cancer [white queen bee] - original poem

cancer [white queen bee]

cutting off the wing
of the sacred queen bee
retiring into old age
involuntarily

cut the head off
of the white mother queen

her mental gymnastics
tore a cosmic seam
in the dualistic
symmetrical chess board

and now the head
lays shrunken
devoid of any life
yet still mumbling little lies
white bleached lies

fearful theatrics of evil
fantasies of bubonic plagues
ravaging and raping
pillaging and doing thy might
in the name
of Lord Satan

on some old
dirty dusty ass
Midwestern country
Ohioan bumfuck road

you must have saw him
stared into those same
garnet crystallized eyes
and you decided not
to turn the other cheek

rather opened him up
into the wand of your hand
to the traumas in your backpack
nestled beneath your large water jug

and now your soul
lays dehydrated
decrepit
and lost

and so it sits
lacking any air
shrinking in my hand
fading into red rusty dust

take care of your cancer
immediately
for mother is waiting
the white queen bee

file cabinet hiding spot - original poem

file cabinet hiding spot

mauve stains
and purple pricks
dithered randomly
beneath hot
pink inflamed tissue

the nonchalant nibbles
and dark atonements
living in the mind
of the slasher who forgot
his Halloween mask

but his rips and tears
are still penned pliantly
on my shattered shell of skin
coiling in mechanical symphony

turning in a musical escape
from the sad landscape
and the palms of our brains
painted on the rosy checks
of innocent children
none the wiser

to the tributary currents
or age-old curtains
and trade-kept secrets
luring one to the shadows
of helplessness

in the file cabinet
of personal accountability

paleobotanist - original poem

paleobotanist

the paleobotanist
will be sure to find a cure

"the only one left
in this hyper-sphere
of the soiled universe"

remarks the weary cyclops

the final key
to advanced
xeno-morphogenesis
must be hidden
avoiding hydrolysis

beneath the moldy
green carpeted layers
of Saturn's
reproducing flower ports

dangling and drooping

off its unreal rings

midnight moon - original poem

 midnight moon

you did me dirty
midnight moon
but I offer no resentful
or vengeful notes of anger
for your fangs to latch onto

the hand-drawn black box
on the backside of my neck
blocks the only biological gateway
between my own armor
and the glowingness of you

thick black ink
serving as rubber cement
securing the dusty old gate
finally in its resting place
so I will not resort to violence
or misdirected hatred

for only our midnight moon
is left to shimmer
in the fields of our clouds
above where the other brethren
were all cast out of Heaven

leaving only their ugly
dusty vibrant entrails
squirming in the sky
still observable
on our modern telescope
as periscopic mystic codes

Bookman - original poem by Sasha Logan

Bookman

A wealthy man shows intellect,
from pondering his manuscripts.
He’s never been on ship nor train,
to see the world, he’s too afraid.

For now he cowers inside his room,
content to watch the flowers bloom.
Roses and wildflowers from his window,

same books and view from his youth.

C.J. Cherryth Covers #1

Taking a look at some of the amazing cover art found on the sci-fi and fantasy novels written by the prolific writer C.J. Cherryth.  I still have to dive into this author's work and I think I will start with the Cyteen series since I have all three in the series unless anyone has any better suggestions.

diurnal resonance - original poem

 diurnal resonance

all longing for
the diurnal beats
wandering in resonance
with our major vital organs
to command the inner chi
and dematerialize any being
as all cellular bodies
resonate at certain frequencies
and move the vibrations
of quartz crystal microbalances
at different rates
in unique logarithmic shapes
swaying in the aether
like a wooden swinging horse
gelled within the folds
of adjacent
temporarily overlapping
time loops
features from distinct
carnival rides
and historical timelines
strangely enmeshed
only for a few
brief moments
- - -
unwind

canvassed mind - original poem

 canvassed mind

the bronzed pages
thumb-creased covers
implore me
to discover your characters
visit your foreign lands

spawned from the kink
in evolutionary metamorphosis
towards a sense of higher purpose
rather than one
of proprietary survival

let me visualize the world
that shook your soul
and rotated your wrists
with enough torque
to write such emotive work

my eyes are numb
in the simplicity of your similes
by your stylized rhymes
and immaculate pacing
over the once barren fields

now splayed with latexed colors
far from their initial titanium whites
that sheeted existence blandly
your texts have begun to paint
my blank canvassed mind
