misnomer moniker - original poem

misnomer moniker

I curse
the emotional warfare
eternally amongst us
suppressing us all
from the truths
of the universe
hidden under the guise
the misnomer
the moniker
of D - S - M
see truth supersedes
any diagnosis
no matter how formal
or self-constructed
it is just that
some of us
prefer the gems
tucked away
in the folds of the earth
while others
angle their heads
solely toward the sky
necks crinkled
knees buckled
eyes blinded

cellar dweller - original poem

cellar dweller

The cellar dweller
is he who has wisdom
and it has been prophesized
that he who holds wisdom
dearly to his chest
in a little locket
of loved ones ashes
wonders not of the beast
and desires not
to ever witness his true form
for nothing in Hell
lives without man’s consent
all that is evil
must become shackled
by fateful retributions
scribed in colored lights
woe onto you
the cellar dweller
if it is truly he
who gives the beast form
in fervent shrewdness
for to contemplate evil
is to bring evil home
and I regret to inform you
all the lights in the house
seem to be on
visible from the sidewalk
good luck tonight
lonely cellar dweller
amen

witch cap eyes - original poem

witch cap eyes

I mix
my heartache
with plastic
packets of creamer
and syrupy
mocha swirls
paranoid
and detached
in 7-11
breathe in
grimy
guttered
lightning bolts
stinging
like a pus-filled sty
atop my swollen
witch cap eyes

L. Sprague de Camp Covers #1

L. Sprague de Camp is one of my favourite early SF writers.  I personally think he does a great job linking sci-fi with fantasy concepts in his works.  Also, you can feel the words of his texts exuding a massive amount of knowledge of how the world works.  I also really enjoy his short stories, maybe even more than his full-length novels to be honest.  Can't say that about many authors.

Let's look at some of his amazing cover variants here!

crystal blue ashtray - original poem

crystal blue ashtray

my modge podge
coated
crystal blue
ashtray
sleeps with all
the ashen bodies
featherily
asteroidal beings
tainted
with inhales
of love
and exhaled
exultations

morda - original poem

morda

this forest
is filled
with creatures
of my lord's court
you may lose limbs
before sunrise
for this forest
is filled
with violent faeries
willing to help
on my mission
to destroy
all that you stand for
all that is pure
to please
the pleasant pageantries
playing in my Lord's mind
a thespian
of mental gruel
and medieval
celestial sorcery
I am the huntress
and you are the hunted
my precious one
I'm the captor
who will find your hiding spot
air you out
and give you up
to Satan and his crew
to serve our mother in the afterlife
and appease our father's death
for the realm of Morda
will forever live on
in generational spirals
our paths will cross
once again
as all that is enslaved
eventually does
at the bottleneck
gate-cover in the sky
we all need to comply
open it
mosey our way inside
for Morda

goalkicker - original poem

goalkicker

boots boosted
brain fried
running out
of borrowed time
simulated sincerely
stuck in a locket
with a lace
made of sticks
protecting
preserving
narrow
neural passageways
plausibly
possibly
providing something
with the power
deceive me
tug me along
a nodal cord
towards something sweeter
something strong
and much feistier
than yellow Listerine
in the misty
morning fog
or the decaliter
of moonshine
we use to soak
our tainted
trespassing feet
sanitizing each step
for the sake
of eternal rest
to share
a piecemeal with
the motherly
milkweed muggle
made
from tumbled traumas
and jangled cajoles
and disbelief
in the deeds of dust
or the power of fault lines
since everything my son
is so deeply
interconnected
feel the currents
wash our hands clean
be free from
locked doors
and narrow
neural passageways
let your toes breathe
in the wisp
of the Earths crust
silently shedding itself
continuously
beneath our feet
in a little sphere
drifting through infinity
kicked
by a champion
goalkicker

garbage man - original poem

garbage man

I'm the garbage man
who works with
the demon of death
you know why they call
my co-worker
the demon of death
don't you?
its meritorious
he's been employee of the month
for ages now
didn't you see his portrait
of shadowy demise
aligning the hallway
leading to the main lobby?
He's skilled
I presume -
at collecting trash

off and away [haunted] - original poem

off and away [haunted]

where are all the boys
who dream on Murakami pillows
and drift into lucid seams
of Toshio Saeki illustrated scenes?

who are the boys
who ponder on canvas
scratched by Francis Bacon's being
the boys haunted by ghosts
possessed by something else?

full apparitions
and all in-between
watch your step
as we descend
into darkness
to play with glass jars
on wooden shelves

housing eyes, ears
noses, and throats
protected by insecure
unsettled beings
not yet willing to plunge
pushing what's possible
trusting the colors splayed

standing on an alien star
drifting off and away

golden fliers of Ireta - original poem

golden fliers of Ireta

the Anthropocene
of Medellin
warns readers
of the golden fliers of Ireta
with their own stinky sunshine
and deformed parallelograms
of barely undulating fringe
dripping wet sheets
in a dark dripping forest

the outsiders
can sneer all they want
pentadactyl development
is not an anomaly
it's just one of nature's
little conundrums
we all have our own
cryptic flaws
watch us have our day

we need infrared beams
to penetrate
the eternal cloud coverage
over the land of colored lakes
their torsional ores
and underground mineral stores

test our sinews
we must find the old cores
and uranium deposits
too many precious metals to collect
and smith into arcane tools
send down along
distinct capillaries
carrying copper capsules
for the operations of
mothership space

we are not indigenous
to this strange land
we're smelly strangers
the locals are hardly arthropods
shaking my head at this quandary
what pleasant peasantry
enslaved by the command of my riches
stored in a continental basin
with petroleum pools

let the coring expedition begin
well have to dig
around the skeletal remains
on a bountiful
botanical excursion
evaluate your competence
begore taking umbrage
I fear not of the karmic debts
for raping this smelly Earth
and usurping this rock candy mountain

the carrion eaters
haven't come yet
to take away my sinful soul
"ha ha" I say to the naysayers
too afraid of the dragons
on this planet
and interdimensional ghouls

our survey is long from completion
I hate to state
deep sea manganese dredging
must continue
so continue as you were

we'll reach the inland sea
before the last speck of gloom
you'll retire only after a long day
of brutal physical struggle
a series of bright black eyes

Name That Author #8

This author has a special place in my heart.  They are actually from the same hometown as me and worked near the Collingwood railyard in her prime, a special place for vagrants and backpack kids in this city.  This one should be a cakewalk (hopefully).

Hint:  Science Fiction

personality hunting - original poem

personality hunting

scrambled frontal lobe
eye yoke; egg joke
spilling into
your blood sausage
and blood-red orange juice
eat up sonny
we got personality
hunting to do

here ---
stuff thus twine
by your bunting knife
well have to tie 'em up
momentarily
but they'll still be conscious
you ready?

when we hang their bodies high
hooves crunched by slaughter hooks
dripping over the Russian polka on the radio
blood twinkling in the fluorescent lights
we'll finally get our revenge
slice these bastards' throats
and reincarnate as toxic toads

his ego got
ran over by a moped in Taipei
on his first weekend alive
don't hunt for the anomalies
seeing from the karmic blue eyes
of god's massive, deformed head
with more freedom than 360 degrees
so never apply linear time
and dualistic emotional mines

our bodily fractals remain
exponentially compilated
by concatenated algorithms
ribbiting at the center
of the lake of Hell
atop the beds of green life
infested with bed bugs and mites
good night buddy
sleep tight

electric chair [commonplace] - original poem

electric chair [commonplace]

one last request
before you fry

let me out of this hole

besides the obvious
asshole

well I guess besides that
you should let me fuck your mother
batman

this man is willing to die in peace
the priest proclaims

as I painfully hold
this prick of pain in my
pruning fist

if any man
shall deny the things
that god puts within him
he must hope
that a blind saint
shall save all
of those who fry

for the sanctity of my name
I can hardly hear
as the shackles lock in place
and you warm in the pain
of electric chair currents

revenge will be mine
excruciating pain
all throughout my body
I'll jerk around like an infant
being rippled to shreds
by a pack of vapid dogs

ask yourself
who's the scum tonight
as you puff your Cuban cigar
you're legal scum
that's the only difference between

a single volume
of legal law
that distinguishes
what you and I do
although oddly similar
we need be distinguished
no matter how purposeless

as good and evil
god and satan
black and white
are constantly dodging machetes
unsheathing their knives

but even the highest voltage
cannot cook my veins
or boil my blood
cooled by the icy crystals
of her vocal hex
resonating her honey soaked throat

as my body burns the electric chair
and I thrash around in misery
and push the priest's book
out his vile stubby hands

my numbered uniform
is all bloody
I'm making not one noise
head dropped in an electric headband
covering my burned eyes

but I can still see
oh I can still see
and it's nothing but flakes
of white light refracting
off black stones of coal
floating in cosmic clouds

how commonplace

Colin Kapp Covers #1

I honestly have not read much Colin Kapp to date.  He has a decent amount of Sci-Fi works published and many of the covers I gravitate too.  I think I will start diving into his work with Ion War at some point unless anyone else has any better suggestions.  Just let me know, cheers.  For now, enjoy the art!

planetary preserver - original poem

planetary preserver

I wish to become
a planetary preserver
a savior to the stars
the one who makes
America's heart melt
by the slime of creation
and lessons of arduous time
attached to the lecture notes
of a great, esteemed xenobiologist

his quavering handwriting reads
"A plan is only mental
never sure of it's course
but intuition -
it's something else
something oddly variant entirely
a lifeless endless stream
with gushing currents
and no commentary or guide
who can see past the brush
carrying a large machete
wafting and paddling
in endless circles
of God's watery creation
on our planet yes
but within other species
on distant cores and crusts
not like our own"

damn.

his words are unravelling
helping me fall into a pit of thieves
only to arise with a golden crown
rubies gems and bars and coins
he helped me find the reason

and those hadrosaur corpses
were on the other side of the globe
like all the other pioneers
and current greats in the field

but I had a hunch
an oh so clever hunch
that their numerical coordinates
we're backwards
opposite
all out of whack

I found my own mountain
and boy did I climb
It was glorious I tell you
even in snowy conditions

and at the top
the very goddamn alpine tip
I found the dinosaur bones
sitting on a silver platter

my own sliver of truth
my own reason
for having the privilege
to start each day
fresh and anew
